Privacy Policy — Akstur

Last updated: 22.10.2026

Akstur is a driving log (kjørebok) for Norway, and it is built on one principle: your log stays on your device. Akstur has no server, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking — it does not even use your location. This policy is short because there is very little to explain.

1. Data Controller

The app is made by SassaGold Studios Hilmarsson (org. no. 838 322 522, Norway). You can contact us at support@sassagold.com.

2. Data Stored on Your Device

The app stores the following data locally on your device only:

  • Your vehicles — a name, optionally the registration number, the vehicle type and your role (own car or an employer's rate), and any per-kilometre rate you set yourself.
  • Your trips — date and time, start and destination as you type them, kilometres, purpose, type (business, private or commute), who the trip was for, and — if you enter them — the driver's name and the names of passengers. Passenger names are the only data about other people the app holds; they stay on your device like everything else.
  • Odometer readings — the readings you note, with their dates.
  • Saved places — names and addresses you choose to save for quicker entry.
  • Change history — what you edited, when, from what to what. Akstur keeps this so your log can show its own corrections.
  • Settings — language, reminders, and whether the one-time key has been bought.

None of this is uploaded anywhere. It is not visible to us or to anyone else. It is deleted when you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.

3. Data That Leaves Your Device

None, unless you send it yourself. The year report (PDF), the CSV files and the backup file are handed to your phone's share sheet — where they go (your accountant's email, your Drive, a message) is entirely your choice and happens under the terms of the service you send them to. Akstur itself has no network features and sends nothing. The one exception is the purchase of the key: that is handled entirely by Google Play or the App Store under their terms. We never see your name, card or address; the app only asks the store whether the key is owned on your account.

Tester sign-up on this website. If you leave your e-mail address in the Akstur tester form, we store it (Cloudflare, EEA) only to add you to the Google Play test list and send you the test link. It is not used for anything else; mail support@sassagold.com to have it deleted.

4. Permissions

  • Notifications — optional, and only if you turn reminders on: a monthly reminder to note the odometer, a nudge when nothing has been logged for a while, and the question «work trip?» when the phone connects to the car. All of it is set up on the device itself.
  • Nearby devices (Android) — optional, and only if you link a vehicle to the car's Bluetooth. Akstur can then see the list of paired devices and notice when the car connects or disconnects. Akstur stores only which device belongs to which vehicle, on the phone, and ignores every other device. It is not part of the backup. On iPhone the Shortcuts app is used instead, and Akstur gets no such permission.
  • No location. Akstur does not ask for, read or record your position. You type where a trip started and ended.
  • No camera, contacts, microphone or files beyond the backup file you yourself choose when restoring.

5. Children

Akstur is a tool for people who drive for work and is not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone, including children.

6. Changes to This Policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Given the app's design, we do not expect it to.

7. Contact
