Terms of Service — SassaGold Studios

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using any SassaGold Studios mobile application ("the app" — Vegvísir, Smiðja, Kvitro, Akstur or 1001 Excuses) or this website ("the site"). By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app or site.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and SassaGold Studios Hilmarsson, a sole proprietorship registered in Norway (org. no. 838 322 522) ("SassaGold Studios", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using the app or site you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

2. Description of Service

SassaGold Studios publishes mobile apps: Vegvísir (a motorcycle companion with local information, points of interest and emergency tools), Smiðja (a garage log for motorcycles), Kvitro (a receipt scanner and warranty tracker), Akstur (a driving log for Norway) and 1001 Excuses. The apps are distributed through the Google Play Store and, where available, the Apple App Store. Each app is free to download; some offer an optional one-time in-app purchase, described in section 3.

3. In-App Purchases

Some apps offer a one-time purchase — a "key" — that unlocks additional capacity or, in Vegvísir, simply supports the project: Vegvísir's support key, Smiðja's Smiðjulykill and Verkstæðislykill, Kvitro's unlimited scanning and Akstur's key. There are no subscriptions. Purchases are made through, and paid to, Google Play or the Apple App Store under their terms; we never see your name, card or address. A key belongs to the store account that bought it and can be restored on a new device with the store's restore function. Refunds are handled by the store under its refund policy, and consumers in the EEA, Norway and the United Kingdom keep the statutory rights that cannot be waived.

4. License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the app on a device you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app or its content;
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app;
• Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in any way that violates applicable law;
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any server or system associated with the app.

5. Content Accuracy

We strive to provide accurate, up-to-date information. However, travel information, emergency numbers, points of interest, and similar data can change rapidly. You acknowledge that:

• Information in the app may not always reflect the current situation on the ground;
• Emergency numbers and procedures can vary by region — always verify with local authorities in an emergency;
• We are not liable for any loss or harm arising from reliance on information provided by the app.

6. Intellectual Property

The SassaGold Studios name, logo, app design, and all original content are the intellectual property of the SassaGold Studios team and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our intellectual property except as expressly permitted.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app and site are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses. Use of the app is entirely at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury, arising from your use of the app or site. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including the mandatory consumer rights of users in the EEA, Norway and the United Kingdom.

9. Privacy

Your use of the apps is also governed by their privacy policies — one per app: Vegvísir, Smiðja, Kvitro, Akstur and 1001 Excuses — which are incorporated into these Terms by reference. The apps collect minimal data; please review the relevant policy for details.

10. Third-Party Services

The app may display content sourced from third-party providers. We are not responsible for the accuracy, reliability, or legality of third-party content. Links to external websites are provided for convenience only and do not constitute an endorsement.

11. Changes to the App and Terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the app (or any feature of it) at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the app at any time, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your licence to use the app ceases immediately.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes are brought before the ordinary courts of Norway, with the court of the district where SassaGold Studios is registered as the agreed venue, unless mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence entitle you to bring the claim there. Consumers in the EU/EEA may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
